William J. Hagan represents clients in a broad range of complex civil litigation. He focuses his practice on complex business and commercial disputes involving contracts, torts, fraud, and other related claims. Bill’s experience includes antitrust litigation, securities litigation, financial services litigation, business disputes, and related appellate matters. Bill has experience in state and federal courts and handles all aspects of litigation, including analysis of claims and defenses, fact discovery, depositions, motion practice, and expert discovery.
Bill is admitted to practice in New York State and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
Education
Bill received his J.D. from the Cornell Law School in 2017 where he received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Administrative Law and was a member of the Deans List. He received his B.A. in Political Science, magna cum laude, in 2012 from East Stroudsburg University.
ILLUSTRATIVE EXPERIENCE
- Represent institutional investors of trust preferred securities (TruPS) related to series of transactions involving securities issuers that caused non-payment on TruPS.
- Represents Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. in antitrust action related to price fixing conspiracy by the four largest U.S. railroads.
- Represents institutional investors, including Commerzbank AG and Pacific Life Insurance Co., for claims concerning structured products arising out of the Financial Crisis.
- Member of the co-lead counsel team representing a class of Dentists in an action alleging antitrust violations of the Sherman Act against Delta Dental Insurance Member Companies.
